Balance and Falls Prevention Workshop
Falls become more common as we age, and falling can cause injury and shake your confidence. Learning how to fall if it occurs and gaining strength to prevent falls is critical to maintaining independence. Take with you exercises to practice at home or at the gym.

Free Weights 101
Have you ever looked at the rows of dumbbells and weights at a gym and immediately felt overwhelmed and intimidated? Weightlifting is not only important for physical health, but it can also increase confidence, self-esteem and personal empowerment. We’ll dive into the fundamentals of strength training by breaking down several essential lifts, teaching the proper form and safe techniques. Participants will get ideas for creating workouts that fit their personal goals, so whether you’re a complete beginner or have dabbled in weightlifting before, this class is a great place to start!

Intermediate Tai Chi
This class is inclusive and adaptable, as participants can choose to practice standing, standing with side support or seated. Chairs will be available, and modifications are offered to ensure that everyone can engage, learn and progress. Some previous practice is helpful but not required.
Introduction to Mat Pilates
Participants will focus on strength, stability, posture, proper breath control and flexibility. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement.

Power Training

Pre/Postnatal Fitness Workshop
This workshop is designed to empower women with the tools and knowledge to confidently engage in exercise before, during and after pregnancy and is led by our personal trainer Danica. She can share her experience navigating exercise during pregnancy as well.
- For prenatal women seeking to safely navigate exercise during pregnancy.
- For postnatal women returning to fitness and exercise with the goal of understanding how to gradually regain strength and learn how to mindfully move while healing their bodies.

Pull-up and Push-up Training for Women
Women of all ages, fitness levels and body types will build upper body strength through body weight pushing and pulling exercises. In this 12-week program, participants will advance through stages of difficulty with the goal of completing full pull-ups and push-ups. The class gets suggested homework to do on a third day of the week because in order to see real strength gains, two to three workouts per week are necessary.

Summer Strength
